Q: What about the cracks ?
- Unfortunately no one can make cracks disappear but as part of the grouting stage these are filled making them less noticeable and can even add character to a floor
Q: Can I choose the colour ?
- Yes if you are laying a new slab you can select the coloured mix from the concrete supplier. There are various aggregate, stone size and cement colour to choose from. If polishing or honing an existing slab you are governed by the concrete you have but they still come out looking amazing
Q.When should I call matrix concrete polishing if I’m building ?
- At the planning stages because the grinding needs to be done before any walls are started and this will have cost and time benefits for the customer.
Q: Is it slippery ?
- As with any smooth surface if combined with water can become slippery much like tiles or timber would so clean spills up as soon as they happen
Q: Can any concrete be polished or honed ?
- Yes within reason. If it has big chunks out of it or extremely soft it isn’t a good option
Q: Do you lay the concrete?
- No we don’t lay concrete but if you need an outdoor honed area to be layed I can organise for it to be done or you can liase directly to the concreter
Q: Is the process dusty or messy ?
- If grinding wet as we do outside sometimes this produces slurry which is contained as best we can, prior to sealing the house and slab are acid washed. For inside floors we use a vacuum attached to the machinery which collects 99% of the dust.
